Our ambassadors are essentially the "hospitality" arm of the Chamber. They are friendly volunteers who donate their time to assist Chamber staff at ribbon cuttings, luncheons, after-hours mixers and special events. Our ambassadors are local professionals, business owners, community advocates, and volunteers for many local organizations
The mission statement of the Hispanic Business Committee: To promote and assist Hispanic business to compete and succeed in local, national and global markets; to be an advocate of the Hispanic business community in areas of trade development and civic leadership; to foster the development of a Hispanic business network, to provide positive role models for our youth through partnerships between business and education.
The purpose of Leadership Lompoc Valley (LLV) is to identify and develop a diverse group of effective community leaders committed to the economy and well being of the community. Through a series of seminars and related activities, participants will meet the experts and key decision makers in areas of vital concern to the Lompoc Valley. The intent is for the class to become broadly informed about issues of importance they normally would not have the opportunity to explore and thus allow participants to become more effective leaders and members of our community.
The Lompoc Valley was the population category winner and recognized for its community involvement during the eighth annual National America in Bloom symposium. The local version of this program is ongoing and involves the beautification and clean up of public right of ways, school campuses and placement and refreshing of half-wine barrels placed along the main thoroughfares of Lompoc.
This committee promotes programs and events aimed at establishing a supportive partnership between Vandenberg Air Force Base and the Lompoc Valley. The committee actively participates in VAFB events such as the Quarterly Awards Program and conducts fundraising activities to support an annual Appreciation BBQ for the military personnel and their families.
Lompoc's Old Town Market is a street fair, occurring every Friday night from 5-7 p.m. during July and August, in the 100 block of South H Street. The event features local entertainment, food, merchandise and information booths and activities for the entire family. A volunteer committee begins meeting early in the year to organize this popular community event.
Shop Lompoc! Shop Small! is dedicated to the promotion and support of all the locally owned small businesses of the Lompoc Community. It is our belief that a strong local economy is dependent on the health of our locally owned small businesses. The committee sponsors several fun events throughout the year, including two Small Business Saturday events, a window decorating contest, Sip Lompoc - a wine tasting event, a scarecrow contest and several other holiday themed events in the works.
Youth Leadership Lompoc Valley (YLLV) is a program designed to motivate and empower a select group of high school students through issues related seminars and interaction with community leaders. A community collaboration led to the program's formation. The program is an investment in the future of the Lompoc Valley through the education of developing our youth as community leaders.
